Playing with matches.

Firebug

Made it while lying in bed last night. I figured that with the right lighting, I could make it look halfway decent.
---------------------------------

And btw, does it seem like life isn't as colorful as it should be? Are your days sometimes drab and missing a certain spark? Well, it's probably because you aren't following me on twitter or facebook ( or here) .

Lately on my twitter, I've been posting almost any stupid thing that comes into my head! (but I guess that's how it is with most tweeters now that I think of it). Come see what kind of twit I really am (probably better than 50% chance that you won't even regret it!). Plus, the more "followers" I have, the more important I get to feel!

I like it. Hopefully he does not drag his feet, or he would set himself on fire pretty quickly.

Thanks Morgan the Muse! Thanks for letting me know that this thing is on.

Love your firebug, Terry. As a teenager we used to turn these kind of matches into little men. After the match is torn out of the book you split the cardboard stick up the center halfway. You then peal an outer layer off each up these almost to the match-head then tear them off to what would be arms length. On one bored afternoon a friend an I had gone for a pizza but couldn't eat it all. For reasons unknown we began placing these little matchbook men all over the pizza and pretending they were on an alien landscape. After a while, the manager came over and asked if we had a problem with the pizza, if it tasted all right. Seems like we got a coupon for a pizza out of the deal, but I don't recall ever going back.

at first i didn't read the title, and saw the two stickin up as arms, like "put 'em up, put 'em up."

This is Smoky the Bear's worst enemy. He hates these more than fire ants. I like his agitated "come and get some" arm motion.

For me an object is something living. This cigarette or this box of matches contains a secret life much more intense than that of certain human beings. - Joan Miro (1883-1983) quote

I love that little guy! Keep him in check, though; I hear they like to start fires.

And...I would follow you on Twitter, but I haven't succumbed to that particular sickness yet.

Someday.

Aww, he's cute. :) I like the buldge at the end of the packet; it makes it look even more like a lightning bug.

You have an amazing gift for making everyday inanimate objects come to life!

Works so well photographed from the _side_. Brilliant!

One day I will succumb to Twitter as I have facebook....and on that day I'll look you up!

Have you done any with a book or pages of a book? I've had a look but can't find one. As an indie writer who only publishes online, I'd love to see what you'd come up with. And I love your motto as well!

And Joan Miro was truly great.

Neat!
Hey, with a couple of bends in the front legs you've got a praying mantis!
